Books, where to buy them

The Wombats- Lost in the Post
(because maybe that's where Borders is, Lost)

I miss my Borders book store. I was never one to pick one over the other (Borders or Barnes and Noble) as far as large chain bookstores go, they're all the same to me. But, now that both Borders locations in Tulsa are closed, I'm missing them! While I do prefer going to independent book stores or just buy online I just thought I'd mention that I need my Borders back because I can't be the only one!

Used book stores are also a favorite of mine and stores that sell both like Gardners Used Books, if you live anywhere near Tulsa and have never been there then shame on you, you're missing out! When I'm in St. Louis, MO visiting my mom I LOVE to shop at Left Bank Books! The Central West End location is within walking distance from her condo, talk about literary obsession convenience [LOC], they're feeding my addiction.

I don't really have any book stores around me, just Target (not that I consider them a book store by any means but they do sell books, and they're really close!).

Some other great places for books:
the book depository
amazon (obviously, I know)
book lending
goodreads swap
book closeouts
alibris

Have any more links to share? Comment with them!!

  1. Hi! Thanks for the follow!

    I miss Borders too :(

Now that they are gone I have Barnes and Noble and Target (I'm not knocking Target, they have a good selection. And it's all too easy to take a quick peek at the books while shopping for other things. LOL)

Have you heard of Half Price Books? I use them sometimes.

  3. Oh, I like your new layout! The old one was really nice too though!

I agree, so many Borders by me are closing down, but there's still one open near me. I haven't been able to buy a lot of books lately because not only am I broke, but I just have so, so many that I still have to read! I have a whole shelf just for books I need to read, not to mention review requests. Once summer starts I'm going to get in a TON of reading. I love to shop at used or half-priced bookstores too! There's one store near me called $5 or Less Bookstore and it's awesome! They get books from everywhere and most of the YA books are only 2 or 3 bucks. It's kind of sad to see all of the Borders closing down though.

Haha, oh and I love the term LOC!
