I really liked it! This book has everything it's full of action, adventure, wits, humor, and faeries. Can't go wrong there! The plot moves smooth and quick, the characters are well rounded and even the unlikeable ones I found myself liking.

Synopsis Goodreads |
Meghan is a normal high school girl. Or so she thinks. Throughout the story she learns things about herself she never would have guessed to be true. She embarks on an adventure through a faery realm to save her younger brother, Ethan, and meets some interesting characters along the way. It really reminded me of The Labyrinth movie.
Robbie, her prankster friend turned serious, helps her on her quest and makes her question who he really is. Ash, an enemy of sorts, makes a bargain with the young girl to help her find Ethan in return for something he needs. There is a history between all of the characters, which tends to make them more dimensional and keeps the reader guessing.
Great story! Kagawa's use of modern technology on such a timeless idea is limitless. I wanted to love it, but it just wasn't there for me, but I did really like it. I am still a rather big fan but I found the story line was a little predictable, it was one of those been there done that kind of faery books. I still cannot wait to read the next book and look forward to following these characters on their next journey!

ReplyDeleteJust so you know, the story gets way better throughout the 2nd and mostly 3rd book :) I'm a bit biased though since I loved them all so much!
ReplyDeleteI do understand what you mean by it being predictable at times though.
