Embrace Virtual Launch Party

To celebrate the release of her young adult paranormal romance Embrace, Cherie Colyer has organized a very fun virtual launch party that I am excited to be part of! Also, check back January 25th for my review of Embrace as part of a blog tour organized by Julie at A Tale of Many Reviews.

My Post about Embracing Change:
Change and I are old friends, and worst enemies, it's been fun thinking about all the changes I've gone through in my 24 years on the planet.
  • The biggest change I've ever gone through in my life occurred about 7 years ago. I was born in South Florida. Grew up at the beach with my crazy and diverse group of friends and I was always surrounded by my loving and very Cuban family. At 16 my mom, my stepdad, my sister and I moved to Oklahoma. Getting used to being in Oklahoma was difficult. First of all, there's ice in the winter and 110 degree weather in summer. There's no beach. And, worst of all school was a nightmare (isn't for everyone though), transferring in junior year isn't something I recommend to anyone. Things eventually worked themselves out when I got to college and I always think if I hadn't moved to Oklahoma I never would've met my husband.
  • My small family is currently going through a lot of good changes right now with the addition of our new puppy. Before Friday it had been my husband, our 1 1/2 year old Boston Terrier Zoey (named after Zooey Deschanel), and myself. On Friday we adopted an 8 week old Boston Terrier, which we named Luna Lovegood (yes, Luna Lovegood). At first Zoey wasn't sure what to think of her, but she's settling in just fine. Going from one dog to two has been interesting. The biggest change we are currently embracing is potty training which I haven't had to do since Zoey was small. She's the sweetest and it's a great change for our little household.

More about the Book

a novel by Cherie Colyer
Madison is familiar enough with change, and she hates everything about it. Change took her long-term boyfriend away from her. It caused one of her friends to suddenly hate her. It’s responsible for the death of a local along with a host of other mysterious happenings. But when Madison meets a hot new guy, she thinks her luck is about to improve. Madison is instantly drawn to the handsome and intriguing Isaac Addington. She quickly realizes he’s a guy harboring a secret, but she’s willing to risk the unknown to be with him. Her world really spins out of control, however, when her best friend becomes delusional, seeing things that aren’t there and desperately trying to escape their evil. When the doctors can’t find the answers, Madison seeks her own. Nothing can prepare her for what she is about to discover.

  2. Thanks for supporting Cherie in her launch (she's my publishing-sister and I'm especially happy to see her book launch!). And just think ... that move to OK will make you better able to face changes (or judge if you want to make them) in the future! Happy Holidays!

  3. I don't envy you having to start at a new school Junior year. That would be hard. And I love that you can now see the bright side, meeting your husband.

Congrats on the new puppy! I love her name :) and I'm sure Zoey will love her too.

Thanks for being a party guest and writing a post on embracing change!

  6. That sounds traumatic to move during junior high, which is a traumatic stage of life even without the move. What cute doggie names! It's probably good for Zooey to have another friend in her pack.
