A timeless tale of young romance. Lorona Connelly is ready for a change from her carefully planned, bookish life. When sparks fly at a costume party, she embraces a chance for romance with the handsome Kestrin Feather. However, she quickly realizes that even love and destiny may not be enough to overcome the reality of an overprotective mother-in-law and Kestrin's long, tarnished history of relationships. When Lorona's curiosity leads her to Kestrin's journal, doubt plagues them both with insecurities and threatens the relationship. Can true love overcome the odds, or was their whirlwind romance just a frivolous crush? Author Elise Stephens shares a journey of young love, fate, and wounded trust in the story of Lorona and Kestrin, a couple who must learn to overcome their fears to share a life together.
First of all, Look at that cover! I'm loving it!

Moonlight and Oranges is a suspenseful yet fresh young adult Paranormal Romance. Filled with admiring characters whom many of us can relate to and an intense plot line, it was hard to put down and I read it straight through! It's rich in beautiful writing, humorous characters, and well written dialogue.

Lorona is this shy and quiet girl who would rather stay in than attend anything with a crowd of people. I understand her in that way. She's timid, but as she lets herself unwind she begins to find the joys in being free and from there her life changes drastically. She meets Kestrin and through a connection she cannot place is drawn to him and his proposal of love.

Kestrin and Lorona's romance moves quickly, and while at first I was concerned for the well-being of this story I was growing to love, I was happy with where Elise chose to take the characters (or rather where the characters took themselves, as we all know they tend to have minds of their own). Kestrin and Lorona's romance, for me, was a tad bit forced and pretty unbelievable, but as I read I grew to accept it. Their fast paced affair catches up to them as the story unfolds and makes for some very interesting drama, so it works in the long run.

I will not go into much detail about the elements of the story, I think the synopsis does a wonderful job summing it up, and I really don't want to spoil anything. What makes it a great read is watching the events unfold with the characters, I wouldn't want anyone to get ahead of themselves. I will highlight one word in the synopsis that I really defines the book, Destiny. It's a theme commonly placed in paranormal and supernatural books and it is a fantastic addition to this one.

Elise Stephens has created an original and whimsical spin on a timeless tale of love and fate. It's something we've all read about, but her book is fresh and fun. I adored her characters especially Lorona's awesome roommate, Yuki. With various personalities, humor, love, and a little something extra Moonlight in Oranges is a definite must read for anyone looking for an enjoyable summer read.

Make sure to stop by tomorrow for a guest post by the wonderful Elise Stephens!
