Top Ten Books I'd Play Hooky With
Some books I'd drop everything and read? Um, yes please.
Some books I'd drop everything and read? Um, yes please.
1. My number one pick is Insurgent by Veronica Roth. When I get my hands on this book I JUST KNOW I won't be able to focus on anything else until I've read it cover to cover at least twice.
2. Slow Twitch by Liz Reinhardt. I lost a lot of sleep when reading the first two books and I know this one will cause many problems when it comes to my productivity.
3. The Calling by Kelley Armstrong, because it's Kelley Armstrong.
4. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, this book made me cry so much. It makes me want to have a meaningful life, and do things I want to do with my time alive. What I want to do is not work, so there.
5. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver. OH MY. How I wish I could just curl up all day, not teach, and reread that masterpiece that left my heart in pieces!
6. I think this one will probably be on a lot of lists, but I could be wrong. The Hunger Games trilogy are books that I'd definitely play hooky with!
7. Dreamless by Josephine Angelini! Oohh I can't wait to read it, I don't plan on doing anything else when I get my hands on that book!
8. Beautiful Chaos by Garcia & Stohl. This book has been on my shelf since release! I can't bring myself to read it because I know I'll be immersed in the book and accomplish nothing else!
9. The last (maybe) book in Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush trilogy series. Due to release around my birthday, do I hear gift ideas? I can't wait!
10. So I'm going to cheat a little and say all of Sarah Dessen's books. I know. I'm awful, such a rule breaker. I can't pick just one, but her books are some that I devote my full attention to, especially when it comes to ignoring other important tasks.
Interesting list - and quite a few that I want to read as well, like Insurgent & Pandemonium - can't wait as I'm saving those for summer when I can play hooky from work :-)
ReplyDeleteI am reading The Fault in Our Stars for book club next week! I also hate to be a bandwagoner but The Hunger Games was on my list as well, I just finished Mockingjay yesterday and I had a hard time concentrating on work until I finished!

Top Ten Tuesday
Good list, Carole! And go you - two weeks in a row. As for your picks, I really like them. I agree - TFIOS is amazing. And I can' wait to read Pandemonium. Not to brag, but I just won it in a book giveaway!! Woo!! Also, I've been meaning to read the Hush Hush series for a while, because lots of people say they're good, but I don't like the covers. Bad, I know. Maybe I'll give them a try...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic list! Would love for you to stop by and check out my Top Ten. New follower via GFC :)
