Keep Calm and Conjure a Patronus Charm

With the week drawing to a close I just want to let out the breath I feel like I've been holding in since Monday. Releasing the exhaustion I'm feeling, not only from lack of sleep, but also the emotional whirlwind that is Harry Potter.

While for a lot of us, the end came with the release of book 7. But, it didn't feel real until around 3am on Friday morning with the final few scenes of the greatly anticipated ending (and they did so well I thought!). No, this isn't going to be a post where I spoil it for everyone (although everyone I know has already seen it).

But Carole, it's not a 3 hour movie if it started at midnight why did it end after 3? Good question. After a fun night of hanging out in the theater hallway for quite a few hours. Laughing and joking about the series and others and discussing what was in store for us (one girl brought a box of tissues, yes, a box. Smart right?), we all sit in our seats and get ready and then... The projector isn't working. The screen is black. You can imagine how well that went over. Since all 12 theaters were already full, we couldn't switch theaters we just had to wait. And wait. After 1 am they get it working. Hoots and hollers follow and we sit through what felt like a never ending slew of previews and the film starts. Then the projector stops working again. Yes, we cried. Finally, after what felt like forever they finally get it going and all I will say is that it was totally worth the wait. So, yes. That's my Harry Potter is Freaking Awesome blurt.

One good thing is that they gave us all free movie passes so I can go see it again for free!! I seriously hope everyone had better theater experiences!

I'm not sure how I haven't seen this anywhere yet. But I saw an article about Ms. Maggie today and The Scorpio Races (I keep reading it as Scorpion which it obviously is not) and can't believe I'm just now hearing about this.

A is for Anticipating:
It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line. Some riders live. Others die. At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them. Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn’t given her much of a chance. So she enters the competition — the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.

I love Maggie's work! The Wolves of Mercy Falls series and her Books of Faerie series are both awesome. Plus, this book is scheduled to come out on my birthday, Oct 18th!

Vacation is over

While I didn't rest much on my vacation I did finish 3 books and read half of the fourth, so I am happy. It was busy, shuffling from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale to Key West and back to Ft. Lauderdale. Plenty of car time, with the husband driving I had plenty of reading chances!

Just in case you missed them here are the three books I have posted reviews for today:

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was fantastic!! It is a must see for fans and even non-fans! I got some fantastic pictures from there and other places on my journeys.

On Thursday we went snorkeling and saw a nurse shark which I would've loved a picture of but didn't have an underwater camera, sad times. While I am a little red from my days at the beach and pool, it was an extremely successful trip!

I'm about half way through Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz, which some people have very negative reviews of but I am really enjoying it so far.

It's definitely been a great book week! I am so glad to be home. Summer session at school starts tomorrow, new kiddos. I am back to updating regularly, which I am excited for I really missed it! Onto the pictures!

Hogwarts!!!

Our Favorite Wizard

Let the countdown begin!!!
HERE I COME!!

May 29th, 30 days from right now, I will be drinking Butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks and visiting Zonko's for a (sure to be awesome) shirt. It is every child's dream to visit Mickey, I've seen Mickey (quite a few times) now I want a wand!!!

I was born in South Florida, moved to Tulsa, OK almost 7 years ago and a year ago they built my dream theme park in the state I no longer live in. Go figure!

For vacation this year we are going to visit my family in Ft. Lauderdale for a week, part of the week we are staying a day in Key West, and I very successfully convinced my loving husband that it was incredibly important that I visit Hogwarts!!! He has no idea what he's getting himself into, he never should have agreed to this (for his sake). I am sure to embarrass him.

I found this [rather old] video online and it made me so excited I had to share! Enjoy my muggle friends!!!
